SUBJECT: 400 Series Glass Finish Drawings
Approved for Publication: June 16, 2001.

Following review of this glass finish drawing by the Committee on Design and Specifications, the members determined that, consistent with current practices, the following changes should be incorporated in the drawing:

  1. The notes regarding the thread depression on each drawing were revised to make them more consistent.

Glass Packaging Institute drawings are intended to provide a voluntary basis for achieving compatibility and interchangeability between manufacturers and users of glass containers and closures. The actual container and closure designs used by manufacturers may differ from these standardized specifications however, and it is the user’s responsibility to make the final determination as to design and compatibility. It is understood that every company remains free to manufacture any container with any finish of its choosing, whether or not GPI has approved, disapproved or not considered a drawing for the particular design.
