Oregon Container Deposit Expansion Signed into Law

Last week, Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber signed legislation that expands the state's container deposit law to include non-carbonated beverages, such as teas, juices, and sports drinks. At the bill signing ceremony, the Governor said, "By making more of these containers eligible for redemption, we're going to have a significant impact not just on our roadways and in our landfills but also increase our recycling rate."
