RMBC is holding a Community Glass Recycling Collection Event in Golden at 10th and Illinois (by the Tennis Courts), September 19th thru 27th. Join us during the Golden Farmers’ Market on Saturday the 19th and 26th from 8am to 1pm. Stop by any day between the 19th and 27th and drop off your glass bottles and jars to be recycled! RMBC will donate $1000 to the United Way if we collect over 1000 pounds of glass during this week.

Anchor Glass Recycling Competition (for local businesses)

Anchor Glass’ Winchester, IN, manufacturing plant will have a drive to collect post-consumer glass containers supported by the Mayor and local businesses beginning September 8th through Recycle Glass Week, ending on September 25th. Employees at the Winchester plant will keep a tally of the amount of glass container recyclables brought to the plant from each business, and at the end of the week, will make a food donation (packaged in glass containers) toward to the local food pantry totaling the dollars from the glass collected.

Eat, Drink and Recycle!
Special Event - Sept 25th
A special event sponsored by the Glass Packaging Institute and the IRC will showcase a commercial recycling program involving bars and restaurants on the north side of Indianapolis. The program helps divert ten tons of glass every month from the waste stream. Set for Friday afternoon, Sept. 25th, two venues will be toured: the site of a recycling project organized by Green Broad Ripple, and Strategic Materials, a recycled glass processing facility in Indianapolis that receives glass from many recycling programs throughout the state. There is no charge for the event, which will include a hospitality hour at the end of the tour. However, advance registration is required and is limited to the first 30 registrants.

Recycle in NYC’s Madison Square Park

Stop by and recycle your empty glass containers, cans, and plastic bottles for a chance to receive cool prizes!
GPI and TOMRA, a provider of reverse vending machines for collecting and sorting empty beverage containers for recycling, along with VOSS Water, are teaming up in NYC for the Madison Square Park Concert Series, a 5-week series of FREE concerts in the park sponsored by the Madison Square Park Conservancy.
On two Saturdays, September 19th and 26th, GPI and TOMRA representatives, along with Little Bottle, will provide a container recycling kiosk for park visitors to use during the day and at the concerts. And did we mention there’ll be prizes for some lucky recyclers?

Little Bottle will roam NYC, stopping at celebrated landmarks. If you spot him, stop him. Little Bottle will be posing for pictures, and you could see yours on the GPI website during Recycle Glass Week!
Meet us at the Today Show
Date: Monday, September 21st
It’s been a lifelong dream of Little Bottle’s to meet Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Al Roker and the rest of the Today Show crew. Little Bottle is hoping to make his dreams come true on Monday, September 21st in the outdoor broadcast area of Rockefeller Center. Stop by and say “hi” and help him spread the word about the benefits of glass container recycling.
